“Over The Moon” Vintage

Lisa Franco of Cheshire, Connecticut loves yesteryear, okay so she has me at “hello.”

I worked with Lisa a few years back at News 8. Now she is making a business out of her passion for antiques. She finds a lot of her goodies while driving to and fro from her place at the beach. This sounds like a nice lifestyle doesn’t it?

Lisa’s business is called Over The Moon Vintage. The way in which she selected that name is really a cute story. She has a photo of her Grandmother (below) as a young woman sitting on a moon, probably as part of a play. Voila! this got her started in her new adventure.

For now the business consists of garden sales in her backyard but she has plans to of course go “on-line” and maybe even set up a store someday. You’ll find lots of items when you go to one of her “garden shopping parties.” Included is shabby chic everything, jewelry, tole trays, china, serving pieces, paintings and prints, textiles. Think of these events as a mini Brimfield Antique Show (this is an enormous show held in a field three times a year in Brimfield, Massachusetts). Lisa, by the way, serves refreshments in her backyard as you’re shopping, so already what’s not to like.

Check out Lisa’s website for what you’ll find in her backyard sales. She is posting photos of the items so you will know what to look for when you show up and also the prices.

It’s time to reuse and re purpose, of course I’ve always done that, but  “Over The Moon” will be a great place to pick up a wedding gift for that couple just starting out that might collect antiques or to find a gift for a friend who is into vintage.

You might be “Over The Moon” with what you find.
